Addiction Services offers specialized nicotine treatment services for pregnant women/support persons.
- Participants learn about nicotine addiction/withdrawal.
- Participants develop self-relevant strategies to help deal with cravings, while learning how to identify their unique triggers for smoking.
- Participants learn the importance of lifestyle and behavior change as an integral part of nicotine addiction recovery.
- Participants learn how to effectively use a NRT/prescription medication.
- Participants receive a free pharmacological aid in conjunction with treatment services.
- Participants obtain support and guidance throughout their quit process as well as six months post partum if they choose.
- Partners/support persons are identified and considered in the woman’s treatment plan.
